I saw the title and thought it a typo and was going to comment in jest asking
if it was JDM, but it is and now I’m not sure.

Not sure either; meanwhile, could I interest you in a Pontiac Fielo?

It’s ordinary engined, but it's relaxable!

It's a Japanese car sales website. Why it's named goo-net, I don't know.

An ex’s dad - a 40 year bodyman - and her brother used to be into flipping cars. They’d go to the auction, pick up the thrashed paint stuff cheap, drive it home on dealer tags,
fix it in the garage, and flip it.
Then one week there’s a call, and someone has to go bring them a trailer. With a winch.
What comes back many hours later is a ‘96 Impala SS with a salvage title and nothing intact forward of the front axle. (Now bear in mind, this is close to 18 years ago , so it’s only 5-6 years old at the time.) Both airbags blown. Paint scraped all to hell. Burn damage.
Two months later, the thing was better than factory. IIRC it sold for something like $24 k. In 2001. (So ~$34k today.) Ended up totaled for good about 3 or 4 years later when a truck t-boned it.

...Did someone import an Impala to Japan? Why?

Quite a few, actually! And why not? They’re quite nice; well, pre-2000, anyway.
